Belén's 2nd Birthday Pictures

Today my little baby isn't such a little baby anymore! Belén is two, which also means we managed to keep a kid alive for two years. Who would've thought?! (Just kidding!) All joking aside, I had a really fun time taking her pictures. Kids, particularly toddlers, are usually hard to shoot because they want to do their own thing. But this ended up working out for me and is probably (for me anyway) the best way to work with toddlers. The second I would attempt to tell her to do something, she'd turn and run away. So I ended up not telling her to do much except play with the balloon. And I have to say, I think the photos game out awesome! Belén sure knows how to ham it up for pictures, but that's because she's used to my sticking my camera in her face all the time. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I do!

Early Morning Winter Photo Excursion

I decided to be crazy this morning and got up early to go take some pictures since we had a snow & ice storm yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was maybe around 18 degrees out, and even with gloves on, I thought my fingers were going to fall off after 10 minutes of being outside! There was no ice covering on the trees as I was hoping for, but still got some nice pictures none the less. I just purchased the Portra Pack and Fuji Pro Pack Presets from Mastin Labs and I am in love! Even though I have not done a true film comparison yet, I used the presets on the images below and just by looking at them really brought back nostalgia from when I started shooting. Cannot wait to dust the old 35mm off and do a real comparison. Hope you enjoy!

Hello!

Hello Everyone! Over the past few weeks I have been working feverishly on giving my website a new look with new content! I have also been working on my brand identity, which has been very difficult. You will continue to see some changes to the website over the next few weeks, especially when I have narrowed down the brand elements :).

The idea of my blog is to post anything from client shoot recaps, photography tips, editing tips, and really any other topic around photography for that matter, and even some personal photos I have taken on my free time.

So with this post, I am going to show you all my new toy! Just a few weeks ago I purchased the Nikon D750 and fell in love! I used to shoot the D3s, but needed a camera with some more features. I went to the D750 because it is a full-frame camera, but in a much smaller and lighter body (which to be honest, took a little getting used to, but now I can't see myself using larger bodies!). I also could not beat that it has 24.3 MP, which was a nice step up from 12.1 MP. It shoots at 6.5 frames-per-second and has an ISO range of 100-12,800, expandable to 51,200! I don't think I will ever be using ISO that high, but I guess you never know. Plus, it has built-in Wi-Fi, which has been fantastic when I am taking photos on the go and want to post them to social media right away.

Anyways, enough about my new toy. I look forward to posting some great content here for you all!
